If you had told 20-something me, lugging a kit full of lipsticks and airbrush foundation onto set, that one day I’d be handing over house keys instead of setting powder, I might’ve laughed, and then asked what shoes I’d be wearing (FYI- comfortable ones). But, I think 20 something me wouldn’t believe I have chickens either….
But here we are. And the truth is, this transition from beauty to real estate? It makes more sense than you think.
My journey started behind the scenes, literally. I built my career as a professional makeup artist working on set for commercials, films, editorial shoots, and events. I’ve worked under hot lights, on tight timelines, and with clients who needed to look and feel their absolute best, even when they were freaking out a little. Or the producer was freaking out a little, money people always do.
I worked with celebrities, CEOs, and real women who just needed a confidence boost. And in every situation, the job was never just about the makeup. It was about reading the room, listening with intention, and bringing calm to chaos. I mean… getting to be in the presence of Snoop Dogg, come on!
I eventually launched Brave Beauty, my own beauty brand focused on helping women feel strong, beautiful, and seen. The name said it all, because it takes courage to show up for yourself, whether it’s on a red carpet, in front of a camera, or walking into a bank to apply for a mortgage.
What a lot of people don’t know is that while I was blending contour and perfecting brows, I was also buying, selling, and managing real estate on the side. I’ve been investing in homes for over 25 years, alongside my dad and brother Craig. Many late night conversations were had and so many decisions! .
I negotiated deals, hired contractors, styled spaces, and learned to see the potential in a property, even when others just saw peeling paint and bad carpet. That behind the scenes experience shaped the way I now guide my clients. You should see what set decorators can do.
Because buying or selling a home? It’s not just about the structure, it’s an emotional, financial, and deeply personal decision. Kind of like chopping bangs after a breakup… but way more expensive. BTW, Bangs…..natures facelift:)
Now that I’ve transitioned into full-time real estate, I bring that same makeup artist energy into every showing and closing:
Whether it’s a first-time homebuyer unsure of what questions to ask, or a single woman ready to sell her home and start fresh, I’m here for all of it, with strategy, style, and just enough sass to keep it fun.
Because real estate, like beauty, is deeply personal. And you deserve someone who sees the whole picture, not just the house, but you in it.
These days, I’m still using my toolkit, just trading brushes for blueprints and beauty lights for porch lights. But the mission is the same: helping women feel strong, confident, and in control of their next chapter.
So if you’re selling your cozy Norwood bungalow, buying your first home in Oakley, or just trying to figure out what the heck equity means, I’ve got you.
Let’s make your next move beautifully simple.
